A Work of Fiction
Animation
The animation that I did for this project was very naive, I knew nothing about the practice of animation or even how many frames are in a second! These videos were extremely experimental, but that is a quality that I love about them, they are the reason I chose to persue with a degree in Animation.
Rebecca in Wonderland
Playing on the idea that when a person reads a book they feel that they become a part of the story.
The narrative is taken from Alice in Wonderland.
I wanted to create a visual story that combined other elements of my work, so you can see in the central part of this animation the book outfit that I made which interacts with my book sculpture in the form of photographic cut-outs.

Heartbeat
A very short animated sequence of a beathing human heart made out of book pages. I wanted to play on the idea that a story has a heartbeat and is very much alive to its reader.
A Humument
As part of my Narrative Structures class I had a brief to create a film based on a work of fiction. Rather than chose a straight forward narrative I wanted to look at Tom Phillips' A Humument: a treated Victorian Novel. This animation takes exerpts from Phillips' work and are narrated within the book and the human reader.
